Will EmpowHERed endorse specific candidates?

We have come to the decision that our position is no.

This question has come up and we wanted to explain our official answer.

EmpowHERed was created soon after the 2024 election as a way to bring together like-minded women and EMPOWER them to make positive changes in their communities while supporting each other and those in need. That empowerment comes through providing access to positive information about actions being taken to bolster our collective spirit and access to actions that we can all take to make a difference in our communities. We provide info and are a resource for boycotts and protests, and some of us participate together in planning and "manning" protests. We also focus on providing access and info about how to become more involved in the political process through general campaign support opportunities, writing postcards/post-its, and attending Meet and Greet activities for candidates for various offices.

Our position is to continue to educate and make it easy to participate in the political process however you feel comfortable. We have a specific action group around the Midterm elections for that reason. While we will not be "endorsing" any specific candidate, we have dedicated this blog post to share candidate activities. All candidate events featured on our platform will still have to align with our general principles just as we require of our members. This post allows for commenting to share upcoming candidate events applicable to our membership. Comments must adhere to our standard policies. We will be monitoring comments.

Participation in politics is something we can do collectively- who you vote for is a personal choice.

Our actions to date have been EMPOWERING! Let's keep going and growing as we head into the midterms!
